Central Iowa’s Run for the Roses is back and bigger than ever in 2010! The famed car rally, produced by Road Rally Charities, will have a stunning array of fabulous and fancy automobiles rallying Euro-style through the streets and roads of Central Iowa. At 9am, the owners will arrive for registration and to show off their rides at Tonic in West Des Moines. Many fans will be in attendance to check out the rides and to watch the rally launch at 12:30 from Tonic.
The teams will compete in a 6-stage, 100 mile rally–a perfect rally event for beginning rally teams as well as a fantastic afternoon event for seasoned rally-ers! No rally experience necessary.
Run for the the Roses has become the premier Spring event to complement Road Rally Charities’ fall event, MidCoast Road Rally. This rally will be sure to be the perfect event for cars of all types–be it antique and classic cars, exotics, and our beloved sports cars.
With teams usually made up of a driver and navigator, this rally will be sure to go easy on even the most exotic of cars, as well as create a high-caliber challenge for people that enjoy the drive. During the 100-mile rally challenge, teams will have the opportunity to tour the best parts of Central Iowa, including scenic Des Moines neighborhoods as well as the infamous Madison County.
And like every Road Rally Charities event, 100% of the proceeds will go to charity–to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to be exact.
