The crew at RRC is EXCITED to bring you our 5th season of rallies and automotive driving events–and we’re very excited to reconnect with you this season! We hope you’re ready to put your driving gloves on, check the air in your tires, and join us on some RRC events in 2010.

Please check out our email updates throughout each month to find out what is going on with your RRC leadership team and to learn about upcoming events. Though it’s only the beginning of March and there’s still a foot of snow on the ground, we know that after this long winter you’re ready to see the RRC season begin! So without further ado….

Now in its 5th year—the MidCoast Road Rally is Road Rally Charities’ signature event. The Rally begins and ends each year in Iowa’s capital city of Des Moines.
The 2010 Midcoast Road Rally will stay true to its roots—a one-day driving competition around Central Iowa with over a hundred teams participating for the coveted MidCoast 1st Place Trophy. Each year, the competition has gotten more fierce, the prizes of gotten more pricier, and the fun has gotten more intense. This year will prove to be no exception.
Entry is only $100 per team —and you can have as many participants on your team as your vehicle can hold! Enter today and start scheming your vehicle, your costume, or simpy start comparing notes with other teams on the Road Rally Charities forums.
Prizes and trophies are given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. Also, a trophy is given for the team with the most Rally spirit—the Fun-Fun-Fun Award. And the Pink Panther trophy goes to the team with the best costume and theme.

Second Saturdays starting at 8am
Partnering with downtown Des Moines’ West End Architectural Salvage, Road Rally Charities is excited to present the all new Second Saturdays event series in 2010.
Once a month, on the Second Saturday of each month through October, we will be cruising downtown to start our weekends. Other fellow auto enthusiasts will be downtown, under the 9th Street Bridge (9th & Cherry at West End Architectural Salvage, next to downtown’s Mulberry Street Fire Department) to kick some tires and drink a cup of joe.
If you’re adventurous (or your passengers are adventurous), the Downtown Des Moines Farmer’s Market gets over 20,000 people every Saturday, and is being held downtown only 4 blocks away from our cruise in.
If you are part of a car club, the Second Saturday event is the perfect place for your club’s Saturday event to use as a meeting point.
We’re all looking forward to getting our weekend started right at Second Saturday cruise ins!

We’re always looking for sponsors for RRC. Sponsors can sponsor our entire season or single events. Sponsorship dollars are used make each event better and for the RRC leadership team to invest in new rally driving events. No leader profits from RRC, and we are 100% volunteer. When it comes to money, our goals are two-fold: #1–all events are financed by sponsorships, corporate donations, and private donations. #2–all entry fees raised by events are given to charity.
To date, we have supported the Isisserettes, The Heart Connection, and the Des Moines Social Club. We look forward to supporting these organizations, as well as others, in 2010. Please keep checking emails and the website for our current giving.
